Expo

  • Design by Martine Kaesen for Decopur.

Driving force behind her creations, she is constantly in motion and floats over the continuous changing world of fashion, where she snaps up the newest happenings in social movements.
The temporary nature, characteristic for fashion, compensates for the increasing need for relaxation and rest. We cannot experience this better than on the dining table.

Her optimal mixtures of traditional methods and state of the art techniques are elements that impress.

The design for tablecloth, runner, napkin, charger plate and the matching bread basket was inspired by the Brussels world trade fair and dedicated to the 50 years celebration in 2008.
Belgium then organized its tenth world fair in Brussels named "world expo 58".
It was the first one after the 1939 New York world fair, the first Belgian world fair since 1935 and the first in Europe since 1937. It was a general and universal exhibition of first class.
The fair took place on the outskirts of Brussels, at the Heysel site where the theme fair was:
    “A World View - A New Humanism”.

Expo 58 hearty welcomed over 41 million visitors.
